A Donkey Wedding

The wedding of Nicky Mayers and Mark Orbine took place at Dundas Castle, South Queensferry on Sat. 27th November. Nicky loves donkeys and was amazed and delighted to find Suzie, bedecked in a floral headdress, and Jock sporting a tartan corsage in his bridle, waiting to greet her on the way into the chapel. They were there again to greet the newly married couple after the ceremony. The bridegroom had contacted the sanctuary many months in advance to secure this lovely surprise for his bride. Both donkeys were very well behaved and totally unfazed by bouquets, umbrellas (it was not a dry day!!) and photographers. A new career beckons for our residents!!
