Donkey Serenade?
Keeping Toffee company in the stables for a few days was Jacko.  This little donkey has been with us for nearly two years sharing a paddock with 4 other geldings since his arrival.  He was found to have two nasty wounds on his neck thought to have been caused by a bite!!  The blame is being squarely laid at the feet (sorry, TEETH!) of either Jake or Patch, the French donkeys. Jacko is always very keen to make friends with any new donkey that is put in his field or an adjoining one but sometimes his attentions are not as welcome as he would like.  Both of these new arrivals are much larger than Jacko and on this occasion, he came off worst.  The vet prescribed a course of antibiotics and Jacko was very happy to be on the receiving end of much TLC.  He did like everyone to know that he was in residence in the stableyard though – hence the paragraph title.  The holidaymakers in the Stable Cottage certainly knew he was there.  He is now on the lawn with Dennis, one of his old mates with whom he gets on fine.
