Unfortunately on Friday 19th November 2010 one of our oldest donkeys was put to sleep. The vet had been called in the morning when Mrs Dale found Henry lying on the ground unable to get up and he was given treatment. That evening Kate felt that he was not improving and so the vet was called out again. Henry was in a lot of pain from a severe colic and it was felt that it was best to put him to sleep.

Henry was born in 1986 and came to the sanctuary five years ago this month along with Paddy. Kate will miss Henry very much as she arrived at the sanctuary at the same time. It was a very difficult situation for Kate that Friday and we all sympathise with what she was called to do.

 Henry will be very much missed by everybody at the sanctuary
