Latest Developments at the Sanctuary - APRIL 2010
Tuesday, 13 April 2010

Dave Kelly (helped by his wife Joan and her brother Drew) has been constructing a new barn/shelter over the last few weeks. It's going to be a huge help next winter, when we will be able to bring in a lot of the old donkeys and have them under cover making feeding much easier.

We now have a very special new helper. She's helping to look after our Shetland pony Toffee. Along with her mother's assistance she is riding him every day and this will help him with his laminitis problem. Her name is Leanna, from Newtown St Boswells, and she is two years of age.

The goats are now all outside getting on well together. Hugo, the new Golden Guernsey cross, has settled well with his three companions.

A really good Easter Weekend has been followed by another large number of visitors for the recent weekend. The shop is flourishing, the new stock proving a success; wee tractors being one of the favourite purchases of the children. Of all the toys, wee cuddly donkeys have been bought, mostly by Grannys!

The Easter Treasure Hunt Quiz was successful and had 90 entries.

The Quiz Winner for the under 8's was Ellie Glendining of Clovenfords near Galashiels.

The Quiz Winner for the over 8's was Corran Macfarlane from Gordon in Berwickshire.

The prize posted out for each winner was an easter egg from the donkeys and a large cuddly donkey toy.
