Unfortunately the weather has changed to make things difficult here in the Scottish Borders. A fair amount of snow has fallen today Sunday 19th December so this could delay the posting of adoptions taken out for Christmas gifts. Every effort will be given to process the adoptions that arrived late Friday & noon Saturday via Royal Mail and the few that have come via our website. Hopefully we will also be able to draw the "BLOSSUM" gift Monday lunchtime. We have rescued a number of Donkeys from France recently (more news about this when the Christmas rush is over) and taken in a 52 year old donkey called of all names "CRACKER" We are also looking after a very young donkey that was rejected by his mother. He is called "PUMPKIN" Unfortunately he is not up for adoption as he should return to his owners in late spring/early summer. Volunteers are and have been working around the clock to feed him regularly. You may have seen the article in THE SOUTHERN REPORTER last Thursday (December 16th) about the latest Sanctuary arrivals and Lookaround T V are visiting us on Monday 20th December weather permitting so we may be on the ITV1 news in the week prior to Christmas. The Sanctuary will not be open for Tours on Saturday (25th December) or Sunday ( 26th December) but will be open for the Tours on the Monday (27th) and Tuesday (28th). Come along and see the donkeys that have been adopted for you, I am sure that they would like to meet you! |
