Veterinary Corner Our Shetland Pony, Highland Toffee suffers from laminitis every year despite our very best efforts to prevent a re-occurrence. When it does happen she needs to be kept off grass and that involves being stabled for most of the day. It is not the happiest of times for Toffee, but it means she remains pain-free and she is taken out for long walks round the sanctuary every day. She is allowed a little time in the bare paddock each day as she improves. |
