Visiting us

donkeyThe donkey tours at the sanctuary are carried out  by volunteers who, as you can imagine, need to put long hours and a lot of effort into making sure all the animals are well cared for.  We do welcome visits from the public but we would be grateful if these could be restricted to the Donkey Walks held every Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. These guided tours take about one hour. Please note that no tours take place during January and February

We regret the sanctuary is CLOSED to the public Monday to Friday although organisations can be accommodated as shown below.

Organisations

We can accommodate groups from organisations at other times but only by prior arrangement.  Please phone in advance on 01835 823468 (answering machine is on if we are busy with the donkeys).  Email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .A Booking Form can be downloaded from this website.

Funding

All our income comes from volunteers fundraising, sales, adoptions and special events. We receive no government or charitable funding, therefore do not be surprised by the vigour and dedication of our "bucket rattlers" on donkey walks and dig as deep as you can to help support the animals.  If you could help with fundraising please contact our Administrator/Secretary Joe Coulson via the office.

Volunteers

If anyone is interested in assisting with the weekend guided tours, please contact the Office - 01835823468 - or come along on a Saturday or Sunday to find out what is involved and required of you.  We have a minimum age limit of 16 years and prospective volunteers must become aware of Health & Safety requirements and their responsibility for the welfare of the visitors to the sanctuary.
